Bishop of Šibenik
Tomislav Rogić was born on November 8, 1965, in Senj (within the present-day Diocese of Gospić-Senj) to Ivan and Marica Rogić. He attended primary school in Senj and graduated from the classical high school at the Zmajević Seminary in Zadar (1980–1984). He studied theology in Rijeka, completing his final year of studies in Zagreb (1985–1991). He graduated in 1991 with a thesis titled "King Saul: God's Anointed and Outcast." He was ordained a priest in Rijeka on June 22, 1991, for the then-Archdiocese of Rijeka-Senj. Upon the establishment of the Diocese of Gospić-Senj in 2000, he joined the clergy of the new diocese. As a priest, he first served as a parochial vicar at the Parish of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus in the Vežica district of Rijeka (1991–1993). He then pursued postgraduate studies in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University, where he earned a master's degree in Biblical Theology with a thesis titled "L’amore totale che si rivela morendo distaccato per poter collegare tutti per sempre (Mt 27:38–51)" ("Total love reveals itself by dying in separation in order to unite everyone forever"). After returning from Rome, he lectured at the Department of Biblical Theology in Rijeka (1996–2010), served as the student chaplain for the city of Rijeka (1996–2000), and was the parish priest of the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Rijeka (1997–2000). He served as the Vicar General of the Diocese of Gospić-Senj from 2000 to 2004, and subsequently as the parish priest and dean of the Holy Cross Parish in Ogulin from 2004 to 2012. From 2012 to 2016, he served as the parish priest and dean in Udbina and Podlapača, as well as the rector of the National Shrine of Croatian Martyrs in Udbina. He was a member of the College of Consultors and the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of Gospić-Senj, as well as a canon of the Senj Chapter since 2012. He published several articles in the *Rijeka Theological Journal* and in various local publications. He speaks Italian. He was appointed Bishop of Šibenik on June 3, 2016, and was ordained bishop in the Cathedral of St. James in Šibenik on July 25, 2016.
