Bishop of Sisak
Vlado Košić was born on May 20, 1959, in Družbinec (in the parish of Petrijanec), which was then part of the Archdiocese of Zagreb and is now in the Diocese of Varaždin. He attended the Interdiocesan Seminary in Zagreb and completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Major Seminary of the same archdiocese. In 1997, he obtained a degree in Theology from the Faculty of Catholic Theology in Zagreb. Ordained a priest on June 30, 1985, he held the following positions and offices: Parish Vicar in Karlovac (1985–1990); Parish Priest in Hrastovice (1990–1992); Parish Priest of Petrinja and Hrastovice (1992–1995); and, since 1995, Professor of Dogmatic Theology at the Faculty of Theology in Zagreb. Appointed Titular Bishop of Ruspe and Auxiliary Bishop of Zagreb on December 29, 1998, he received episcopal ordination on February 6, 1999. He served as Episcopal Vicar for the pastoral region of Sisak and as Vicar for the Laity and Culture. Within the Croatian Conference of Bishops, he is the President of the Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue, as well as the Commission for Justice and Peace (*Iustitia et Pax*).
