Bishop of Santander
Bishop Arturo Pablo Ros Murgadas was born on 10 June 1964 in Vinalesa, province and autonomous community of Valencia. After some work experience, he entered the major seminary of Valencia, where he studied philosophy and theology at the San Vicente Ferrer Faculty of Theology and obtained a bachelor’s degree in theology. He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1993 in Valencia. He has held the following offices: parish vicar of La Asunción in Torrent (1993-1996); parish priest of San Vicente Ferrer and Nuestra Señora de la Buena Guía in Valencia (1996-2000); diocesan assistant of the Cursillos de Cristiandad (1996-2000); member of the Presbyteral Council (1998-2003); superior of the major seminary of Valencia (2000-2005); parish priest of Requena and episcopal vicar (2006-2016). He was appointed titular bishop of Ursona and auxiliary of Valencia on 27 June 2016, receiving episcopal consecration the following 3 September. Within the Spanish Episcopal Conference, he has been a member of the Episcopal Commission for the Lay Apostolate (2016-2000). He has served as chair of the Episcopal Under Commission for Childhood and Youth since 2020.
