Bishop of San Pablo
Marcelino Antonio M. Maralit was born on May 18, 1969, in Manila. He completed his philosophical studies at the St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary in Lipa City and his theological studies at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, obtaining a Licentiate in Theology; subsequently, he attended the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, earning a Licentiate in Church History. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Lipa on March 13, 1995. He held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of Immaculate Conception Parish, Bauan, Batangas (1995–1996); Professor at St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary, as well as Deputy Director and later Director of the Diocesan Commission on Vocations (1996–1999); Vice-Rector, Professor, Formator, and Dean of Studies (2003–2009) and Rector (2009–2013) at St. Francis Theological Seminary; Parish Priest of *Invención de la Santa Cruz* in Alitagtag, Batangas (2013–2014); and member of the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Lipa. On December 13, 2014, he was appointed to the See of Boac and was consecrated Bishop on March 13, 2015. Within the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines, he serves as Chairman of the Episcopal Commission on Social Communications and as a member of the Episcopal Commission on Youth. He subsequently served as: Parochial Vicar of Immaculate Conception Parish, Bauan, Batangas (1995–1996); Professor at St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary in Lipa City (1996–1999), simultaneously serving first as Deputy Director and later as Director of the Diocesan Commission for Vocations; Vice-Rector, Professor, Formator, and Dean of Studies at St. Francis Theological Seminary (2003–2009); Rector of the same St. Francis Theological Seminary (2009–2013). Finally, from 2013 to the present, he has served as Parish Priest of Invencion de la Santa Cruz Parish in Alitatag, Batangas, and as a member of the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Lipa.
