Diocese of San Pedro

Pierre Jubinville, C.S.Sp., was born in Ottawa, Canada, on August 5, 1960. He completed his primary education at the Mont Bleu school in Hull (now Gatineau) and his secondary education at the Collège Saint-Alexandre, run by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, in Hull. In 1979, he entered the pre-novitiate of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in Quebec and subsequently completed his novitiate with the same Congregation in Farnham, where he made his first profession in August 1981. In 1984, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Theology from the University of Montreal. From 1984 to 1987, he undertook a missionary assignment in Kongolo, North Katanga, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. From 1987 to 1988, he attended intensive courses at the Institute for Integral Human Formation in Montreal. He made his perpetual profession in January 1988 and was ordained a priest on September 17 of that same year. In 1990, he obtained a Licentiate in Religious Sciences from the Institut Catholique de Paris. His priestly ministry has included the following roles: missionary in Mexico, collaborating at El Pujal Parish in the Diocese of San Luis Potosí (1990–1991); missionary in Paraguay, collaborating at San José Obrero Parish in Choré, Diocese of San Pedro (1991–1996); parish priest of San Francisco de Asís Parish in Lima, Diocese of San Pedro (1996–1999); formator for the Spiritan aspirantate and postulantate in Paraguay (at Fernando de la Mora, Asunción) (1999–2010); and superior of the Spiritan community in Asunción, Paraguay (2010–2012). He currently serves as First Assistant General of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in Rome.
