Bishop Marcelo Fabián Mazzitelli, Apostolic Administrator of San Rafael, was born on June 25, 1960, in Buenos Aires, in the Diocese of San Isidro. He attended the diocesan seminary of San Isidro. He was ordained a priest for San Isidro on March 11, 1986, in San Isidro. He obtained a licentiate in theology from the Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires. He has served as parochial vicar; prefect and rector of the diocesan seminary of San Isidro; a member of the presbyteral council; president of the Organisation of Seminaries of Argentina; a missionary in Holguín, Cuba; and parish priest of Santa Rita in Boulogne. From 2015 he served as an official of the Congregation for the Clergy. On November 10, 2017, he was appointed Titular Bishop of Pauzera and Auxiliary Bishop of Mendoza. He received episcopal ordination on December 29, 2017, at Mendoza, with Dante Gustavo Braida Lorenzón as principal consecrator and Alcides Jorge Pedro Casaretto and Óscar Vicente Ojea Quintana as co-consecrators. On February 13, 2025, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of San Rafael.
