Bishop Christian Rodembourg

Christian Rodembourg, M.S.A., was born in Brussels on August 26, 1959, and baptized on August 29, 1959. He first completed studies qualifying him to teach religious education at the Lumen Vitae Institute for Catechesis and Pastoral Studies (Belgium). He subsequently worked as a teacher and then as an editorial director for Éditions Saint-Paul in Paris and Fribourg. On May 29, 1994, he became a permanent member of the Society of Apostolic Life of the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles; after completing advanced theological studies (Licentiate in Theology) at the University of Montreal, he was ordained a priest on August 5, 1995. For 22 years, he exercised his priestly ministry in the Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil, serving first as an associate pastor and later as a parish priest, while also contributing to various diocesan councils. He was also involved in several movements, serving, among other roles, as a spiritual facilitator for the *Week-End d’Amoureux* group and as a spiritual advisor for the *Équipes Notre-Dame* (Teams of Our Lady) in the Canada region. Within his religious institute, he served successively as provincial councilor and treasurer, general councilor, director of formation, and general assistant from 2007 to 2017. In addition to leading retreats, he authored the book *Prier 15 jours avec Père Eusèbe-Henri Ménard, fondateur de la Société des Missionnaires des Saints-Apôtres* (Praying for 15 Days with Father Eusèbe-Henri Ménard, Founder of the Society of the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles), which has been translated into English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. He published a second book with Éditions Nouvelle Cité titled *Une vie offerte. Père Eusèbe-Henri Ménard. 120 citations inspirées* (A Life Offered: Father Eusèbe-Henri Ménard – 120 Inspired Quotes). He is a member of the editorial board of the journal *Chemins franciscains*. He has also published several articles, notably in the journals *Appoint* and *Prêtres et pasteurs*. On June 29, 2017, he was appointed Bishop of Saint-Hyacinthe by Pope Francis. His episcopal ordination took place at the Cathedral of Saint-Hyacinthe on September 17, 2017, performed by His Excellency Monsignor Luc Cyr, Archbishop of Sherbrooke and Metropolitan.
