Bishop Martin Laliberté was born on 13 December 1964 in Charlesbourg, in the archdiocese of Québec. After giving his religious vows as a member of the Foreign Missions Society of the province of Québec, he was ordained a priest the following 28 October. He has held the following offices: missionary in the Amazon region in Brazil, first assistant, vicar general, and superior general. He was appointed titular bishop of Sertei and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Québec on 25 November 2019, receiving episcopal ordination the following 29 December. On 14 March 2022 he was appointed bishop of Trois-Rivières.
