Archbishop of Strasbourg
Pascal Delannoy was born on April 2, 1957, in Comines, in the Archdiocese of Lille. After completing his studies in Economics at the Catholic University of Lille and working as an accountant, he entered the Major Seminary of Lille, where he underwent priestly formation. He was ordained a priest on June 4, 1989, for the Diocese of Lille. He held the following positions: Parochial Vicar at Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Roubaix and Saint-Paul in Hem, with responsibility for Apostolic Movements in the Roubaix-Centre Deanery (1989–1997); Head of Pastoral Care for independent professional circles in the Roubaix area (1991–1999); Dean of Roubaix-Centre (1997–1999); Dean of Bailleul (1999–2003); Episcopal Vicar for the Flanders area (1999–2004); and Dean of Houtland and Delegate for the Rural Mission (2003–2004). Appointed Titular Bishop of Usinaza and Auxiliary Bishop of Lille on June 30, 2004, he was consecrated on September 12 of that year. On March 10, 2009, he was transferred to the See of Saint-Denis.
