Archbishop of Taranto
The Holy Father has appointed H.E. Msgr. Ciro Miniero as Coadjutor Archbishop of Taranto, transferring him from the Diocese of Vallo della Lucania. Msgr. Miniero was born on January 31, 1958, in Naples (in the province and archdiocese of the same name). After entering the Major Archiepiscopal Seminary of Naples, he was ordained a priest on June 19, 1982. In 1995, he obtained a Licentiate in Pastoral Theology from the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy – Saint Thomas Section. He has held the following positions: religion teacher (1981–1992); Vicar of the *Ave Gratia Plena* parish in Barra (1982) and subsequently Parish Priest of the same parish (1989); Spiritual Director at the Major Archiepiscopal Seminary; member of the Presbyteral Council; member of the Commission for the Ongoing Formation of the Clergy; member of the Diocesan Pastoral Animation Team; member of the Regional Commission for the Clergy; Dean of the then-XVIII Deanery (1994–1997); Episcopal Vicar of the then-VII Pastoral Zone (1997); Diocesan Bursar (1999–2008); Dean of the IX Deanery (2007); and member of the Board of Directors of the Archiepiscopal Seminary (2008). Appointed Bishop of Vallo della Lucania on May 7, 2011, he received episcopal consecration on June 19 of that same year. Within the Episcopal Conference of Campania, he serves as the Delegate Bishop for the *Sovvenire* sector (support for the Church) and the Communications sector, as well as Bursar.
