Archbishop of Pesaro
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Archdiocese of Urbino-Urbania-Sant’Angelo in Vado presented by H.E. Msgr. Giovanni Tani and has appointed Msgr. Sandro Salvucci, Metropolitan Archbishop of Pesaro, as Archbishop of the same Archdiocese, uniting the two Sees *in persona Episcopi*. H.E. Msgr. Sandro Salvucci, Archbishop of Pesaro and Archbishop of Urbino-Urbania-Sant’Angelo in Vado, was born on April 3, 1965, in Macerata. He has belonged to the Focolare Movement since his youth. He obtained a Baccalaureate in Theology from the Archdiocesan Seminary of Fermo and subsequently a Licentiate in Moral Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, as a student of the Almo Collegio Capranica. He was ordained a priest on September 25, 1993, for the Archdiocese of Fermo, and was incardinated into that same Archdiocese. He has held the following positions: Parochial Vicar of SS. Annunziata in Porto Sant’Elpidio (1994–1999); Professor of Moral Theology at the *Istituto Teologico Marchigiano* and the ISSR in Fermo (since 1995); Director of the Diocesan Vocations Center (since 1998); Director of the Diocesan Committee for the Permanent Diaconate (1999–2006); Spiritual Animator of the Villa Nazareth Diocesan Spirituality Center in Fermo (2001–2006); Member of the College of Consultors (2004–2012); and Rector of the Archdiocesan Seminary of Fermo (2006–2014). Furthermore, he served as Parish Priest of the Montegranaro Pastoral Unit, Teacher of Moral Theology at the *Istituto Teologico Marchigiano*, and Animator and Head of the Diocesan Movement of the Work of Mary (Focolare Movement). He was appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Pesaro on March 12, 2022, and received episcopal consecration on May 1 of that year. Within the Episcopal Conference of the Marche, he serves as the Bishop Delegate for youth ministry.
