Raymond Michel René Centène is Bishop of Vannes, France, since 2005. He was born on 20 March 1958, ordained a priest on 27 June 1993, appointed bishop on 28 June 2005, and consecrated bishop on 16 October 2005. He is the son of Marcel Centène and of his mother, born Annie Gras, who were winegrowers. His formation included the Faculty of Law of Perpignan, the regional seminary of Toulouse, and the French Seminary and Gregorian University in Rome. His ministries included chaplain of the Perpignan detention center from 1993 to 2005; scout chaplain from 1994 to 2005; parish priest of Saint-Joseph Parish in Perpignan from 1997 to 2005; dean of the Perpignan West sector from 2000 to 2003; school chaplain from 2000 to 2005; chancellor of the Diocese of Perpignan, member of the episcopal council, presbyteral council, and economic council from 2001 to 2005; member of the college of consultors from 2003 to 2005; and member of the Council for Movements and Associations of the Faithful from 2019 to 2024.
