Archbishop of Vercelli
Archbishop Marco Arnolfo, Archbishop of Vercelli, was born on November 10, 1952, in Cavallermaggiore, in the province of Cuneo and the Archdiocese of Torino. After attending the minor seminary of Rivoli, he followed the philosophical and theological courses of the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy, Turin section, and a two-year specialisation in pastoral theology at the Pontifical Salesian University, Turin section. As a seminarian he took a degree in physics. He was ordained a priest for Torino on June 25, 1978, in Torino. As a priest he served as parochial vicar of Santa Maria della Scala, the cathedral of Chieri; parochial vicar of Santi Pietro e Paolo at Santena; rector of the minor seminary of Turin; director of the diocesan work Madonna dei Poveri-Città dei Ragazzi; parish priest of San Giovanni Battista at Orbassano; and territorial episcopal vicar of the western district of that city. Until 2012 he was a member of the episcopal council and of the college of consultors, and he has since served as a member of the presbyteral council and of the commission for the scrutiny of candidates for the priesthood of the Archdiocese of Torino. He has been a chaplain of His Holiness since March 20, 2010. On February 27, 2014, he was appointed Archbishop of Vercelli. He received episcopal ordination on May 11, 2014, at Vercelli, with Cesare Nosiglia as principal consecrator and Enrico Masseroni and Gabriele Mana as co-consecrators.
