Bishop of Versailles
Luc Crepy, C.I.M., was born on May 12, 1958, in Lille. After his initial studies, he obtained a doctorate in biology and entered the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (Eudist Fathers), making his solemn vows on December 10, 1988. He completed his theological training at the Institut Catholique de Paris, earning a Licentiate in Moral Theology. He was ordained a priest on May 21, 1989. From 1989 to 1995, he exercised his pastoral ministry in the Diocese of Evry-Corbeil-Essonnes. From 1995 to 2001, he served as Rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary of Orléans. Within the Congregation, he held various positions, becoming the Eudist Provincial for France-Africa (2001–2007) and President of the Conference of Major Superiors of France. From 2006 to 2008, he served as Pontifical Commissioner for the France-Switzerland Province of the Society of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary. From 2007 to 2012, he was once again Rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary of Orléans and subsequently Procurator General of the Eudist Congregation in Rome. On February 12, 2015, he was appointed Bishop of Le Puy-en-Velay and received episcopal consecration on the following April 12. Within the French Episcopal Conference, he serves as President of the Permanent Unit for the Prevention of and Fight Against Pedophilia and as a member of the Episcopal Commission for the Mission of France. From 1995 to 2001, he served as Rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary of Orléans. He subsequently held various positions within his Congregation, becoming the Eudist Provincial for France-Africa (2001–2007) and simultaneously serving as President of the Conference of Major Superiors of France. From 2006 to 2008, he was the Pontifical Commissioner for the France-Switzerland Province of the *Société des Filles du Cœur de Marie*. He served again as Rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary of Orléans from 2007 to 2012. Upon leaving that post, he became the Procurator General of the Eudist Congregation in Rome.
