Bishop of Vic
Román Casanova Casanova is Bishop of Vic, Spain. Romà Casanova was born on 29 August 1956 in Deltebre and completed theological studies at the Seminary of Tortosa. He was ordained a priest on 17 May 1981 and completed ecclesiastical formation with a licentiate in Theology at the Faculty of Theology of Catalonia. On 13 June 2003 he was appointed Bishop of Vic by John Paul II. He was ordained bishop, took canonical possession of the see of Vic, and began his episcopal ministry in the diocese on 14 September 2003. From 23 August 2021 he was apostolic administrator of Solsona until 3 January 2022, when Francesc Conesa was appointed Bishop of Solsona. He has been designated delegate of the Tarraconense Episcopal Conference for missions and relations with religious.
