Bishop Sebastian Thekethecheril

Sebastian Thekethecheril was born on July 30, 1954, in Aapadanad, within the parish of Vanavathukara in the Diocese of Vijayapuram. After attending the Minor Seminary of Vijayapuram, he completed his ecclesiastical philosophical studies at the Pontifical Seminary in Alwaye. He was ordained a priest on December 18, 1980, and incardinated into the Diocese of Vijayapuram. He held the following positions: 1981–1982: Secretary to the Bishop; 1983–1985: Parochial Vicar at Mary Mount Parish and Parish Priest of St. Mary's Church; 1985–1989: Canon Law studies at the Urbaniana (concluding with a doctorate); 1990–1999: Chancellor and Director of the "Vijayapuram Social Service Society"; 1999–2005: Vicar General and priest in charge of St. Anthony's Church.
