Bishop Riccardo Battocchio

Bishop Riccardo Battocchio, Bishop of Vittorio Veneto, Italy, was appointed Bishop of Vittorio Veneto by the Holy Father from the clergy of the Diocese of Padua, until then rector of Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome. He was born on 14 August 1962 in Bassano del Grappa, Diocese of Vicenza. He was ordained a priest on 7 June 1987 for the Diocese of Padua. He obtained a doctorate in Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and a diploma in Library Science at the Vatican Apostolic Library. He held the following offices: teacher and formator in the diocesan seminary, where he taught courses in Introduction to Christianity and Theology and in Theological Anthropology and Eschatology; director of the library of the Bishop's Seminary of Padua from 2004 to 2019; vice dean of the Theological Faculty of Triveneto and director of the specialization cycle; president of the Italian Theological Association in 2019; assistance in some parishes of the Diocese of Padua; member of the team of the San Luca Institute for the permanent formation of priests of the Diocese of Padua; member and special secretary of the XVI General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops; and from 2019 rector of Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome.
