Bishop Roberto Campiotti

Bishop Roberto Campiotti, Bishop of Volterra, Italy, was appointed by the Holy Father as Bishop of Volterra after the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Volterra presented by Bishop Alberto Silvani. He was of the clergy of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Milan and had until then been rector of the San Carlo Borromeo International Ecclesiastical College in Rome. Bishop Campiotti was born on 31 October 1955 in Varese. After finishing scientific high school in 1974, he entered the archiepiscopal seminary of Milan and obtained a baccalaureate in theology at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy. On 16 June 1979 he was ordained priest and was incardinated in the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Milan, where he held the following offices: teacher of Catholic religion in lower middle school (1979-1981) and upper middle school (1981-1995); parish vicar of Santi Filippo e Giacomo in Laveno-Mombello (1979-1990), of San Francesco di Sales in Milan (1990-1992), and of San Giulio in Cassano Magnago (1992-1995); pastor of San Lorenzo (1995-1997), of San Siro-Albusciago in Sumirago (1997-2006), of San Giovanni Evangelista in Caidate, of San Vincenzo in Menzago, and of Santi Pietro e Paolo in Quinzano (2006-2010); and head of the Sumirago-Albusciago pastoral unit and of the San Benedetto pastoral community in Sumirago. From 2010 until the source date he was rector of the San Carlo Borromeo International Ecclesiastical College in Rome and primicerius of the Archconfraternity of Saints Ambrose and Charles of the Lombard Nation.
