Bishop of Zaria
Msgr. Habila Tyiakwonaboi Daboh was born on 10 June 1970 in the area of Zangon Kataf, in the archdiocese of Kaduna, Nigeria. After attending Saint Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary in Makurdi and Saint Augustine’s Major Seminary in Jos, he was ordained a priest o 10 July 1999 for the archdiocese of Kaduna. Following ordination, he first served as parish vicar at Saint Joseph's Cathedral in Kaduna (1999-2003) and chaplain of the Federal Kaduna Polytechnic (2001-2003). After obtaining a licentiate in Church History at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (2003-2006), he went on to hold the roles of parish priest at the Queen of Apostles in Kakuri, Kaduna (2006-2008) and to receive a diploma in education from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria (2009). He was a lecturer at the Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna (2006-2008); rector of Saint Peter's Minor Seminary in Katari, Kaduna (2008-2016); and dean of the Dogon Kuron Deanery in Katari (2008- 2016). He was awarded a doctorate in Church history from the University of Jos (2019). From 2016 to date he has been rector of the Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna and collaborator at Saint Stephen's parish in Juji.
