Altar Servers

Boys and girls in Grades 4 and above invited to serve. Altar boys since parish founding; altar girls added in 1994.

Baptism Preparation Program

Glaubensbildung

Coordinated by pastoral staff and run by a group of young parents to provide education for parents and godparents. Takes place second Saturday of each month from 10:00AM to 11:30AM.

Baptism Robes Committee

Liturgical

Group makes baptismal robes for babies baptized in the parish; members pray for the babies as they sew.

Bernardines

Fraternal & Service

Organized in 1951 to raise funds for the parish; open to all women. Activities include community and adult events, activities for youth, junior high dances, and seasonal activities.

Blood Drive

Health & Wellness

In cooperation with Brigham and Women's Hospital; hosts a blood drive approximately every ten weeks.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Liturgical

Confirmed members distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at weekday and weekend Masses.

Filipino Community of the Archdiocese of Boston

Cultural/Ethnic Ministry

Celebrates Mass at Holy Name on the first Sunday of each month at 1:00PM, followed by a social gathering in Finn Hall.

Hospitality

Parishioners assisting in organization, set-up, and serving refreshments at various parish events.

Parish members proclaiming the Word of God and reading the Prayers of the Faithful at liturgical celebrations.

Ministers to the Homebound

Social Justice & Outreach

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Eucharist to about 60 homebound parishioners. Mass celebrated monthly at Sophia Snow House and Springhouse.

Our Lady of the Holy Name Sodality

Fraternal & Service

Women's sodality begun in 1945; open to women of all ages; generally meets first Monday of the month at 3:00PM; includes Rosary, Mass, and guest speaker.

Parish Finance Council

Parish Governance & Administration

Advises the pastor concerning administration of parish finances; gives detailed annual report to the parish.

Parish Pastoral Council

Parish Governance & Administration

Assists the pastor in planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating, and reviewing evangelization, worship, religious education, and service activities. Assesses needs of the whole parish.

Respect Life Committee

Pro-Life

Works with Archdiocesan Pro-Life Office to raise awareness of pro-life issues. Sponsors a Baby Shower for Life in January.

Saint Vincent de Paul Society

Social Justice & Outreach

Began in 1928; provides food, clothing, furniture, guidance, and assistance. Regular food drives for food pantries. Serves dinner monthly at Rosie's Place. Membership by invitation.
