Msgr. Derio Olivero was born in Cuneo on 17 March 1961. He attended the lyceum and the formative course in philosophy and theology at the episcopal seminary of Fossano. He was ordained a priest on 12 September 1987 for the diocese of Fossano. He concluded his formation with a licentiate in pastoral theology from the Pontifical Lateran University. He has held the following offices: deputy priest of the “Spirito Santo” parish of Fossano; rector of the episcopal seminary of Fossano; lecturer in pastoral theology at the Interdiocesan Theological Studium of Fossano; parish priest of “Spirito Santo”, Fossano; head of vocational pastoral ministry; diocesan head for culture; and diocesan official for youth pastoral ministry and tourism. Since 2012 he has served as vicar general of the diocese of Fossano. Msgr. Olivero is the author of publications of a pastoral nature.
